CAN YOU HELP PLEASE?
Please check your homes, garages and sheds for any tools and equipment you no longer use and no longer need.
We will collect in the Aylesbury area – 15-24 September 2024.

We will then deliver all the donated tools to Workaid.

They do this by refurbishing donated tools to a high standard and shipping them to training centres and self-help organisations. In 2015 they received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Every year they send enough tools to help 9.000 people learn the skills they need to help themselves out of poverty.
Please donate and recycle those unused tools and put them to work.

Rotary Rocks !
Our popular and successful Rotary Rocks programme
comprises fundraiser concerts featuring both locally and
nationally recognised acts. Apart from raising money for
worthy charities, the programme also seeks to bring our
community work to a wider audience through promoting acts
representing different musical genres. To date there have been
five raising in excess of £4,000 for seven charities. The gigs
are held at the Limelight Theatre in partnership with The
Queens Park Arts Centre. The most recent event on Saturday
9th March 2024 saw the return of the hugely popular ‘Man the
Lifeboats’ who in 2019 helped us raise £760.00 for The Vale of
Aylesbury Charity School Therapy Dog Project at Stocklake and
Booker Park Schools. Their latest concert raised nearly £750
for Buckinghamshire Mind. Watch out for our next Rotary Rocks gig – they are always a good evening out, and always raise funds for local charities.

Christmas Float Collections – A Huge Thank You
Santa Float Thanks
A HUGE thanks from us all at Aylesbury Hundreds Rotary Club to the people of Aylesbury for your welcome and generosity as we visited areas around the town with our Santa Float before Christmas. This event is always a joy and this year was no different. To see all those happy faces greeting Santa warms hearts even on the coldest of nights.
Over £5000.00 was raised this year, which is a superb total and will go a long way to supporting the work the Club does in Aylesbury with local charities and good causes, and other areas.
We visit as many areas as we could. We know that isn’t everywhere. We are looking at new ways to capture as many places as possible this year. Our thanks also go to Nissan Aylesbury, who provided the vehicle to tow Santa about; to Motts, who allowed Santa to rest in their yard during the day; to AJS Trailer Servicing, who made sure the grotto was safe for Santa to ride in
and to our volunteer drivers, who made sure Santa could be seen around the town.
Thanks also to Sainsbury’s and Tesco for hosting us at their Aylesbury stores.
We were joined in a number of rounds by local charities and good causes.Thank you everyone. We look forward to seeing you all again next December.

Teams of students from across Aylesbury were set the task of designing a powered device to cross a crocodile-infested swamp. Each team was presented with materials and given a list of permitted tools. After an hour of planning they were allowed to begin their building. The success of the device was judged, as was their portfolio of designs and deliberations.
We had winning teams in three age bands from The Grange School and The Cottesloe School. There were also awards for students from Aylesbury High School and The Kingsbrook School.
We were delighted to be hosted again this year by Aylesbury Vale Academy. It is our third year at this venue and we extend our thanks to Principal Gavin Gibson and his team.
