Rotary Rocks 2026 – The Dead Cherry Pickers Music Society<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t

Our Rotary Rocks charity fund raiser gig on 01 May 2026 featuring the debut gig of The Dead Cherry Pickers Music Society (aka The Dung Beatles) was a sell-out.\u00a0 This superb band of talented musicians performed their \u2018original stuff\u2019 to an enthusiastic and appreciative capacity audience.\u00a0\u00a0 New music from old friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert raised a tremendous \u00a31,027 for the Young CarersBucks charity.\u00a0 Many thanks to everyone who came and those who bought raffle tickets too. Massive thanks to the Dead Cherry Pickers for all their energy and hard work in bringing their studio songs up to gig standard, and to our partner charity Queens Park Arts Centre who looked after everyone so well and without whom we could not run our shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks too for the raffle prizes kindly provided by – Heritage & Sons Funeral Directors; Chiltern Railways; ATG Theatre Waterside; Tesco; Rogue Bowling; Rococo Lounge; Sizzling Pub & Grill \u2013 The Plough; Queens Park Arts Centre; Michael Anthony Estate Agents; Miller & Carter; Caffe Nero; and members of the Rotary Club of Aylesbury Hundreds.\u00a0 Not forgetting our raffle ticket sellers on the night, Maxine & Keith and Brenda & Lees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watch out for our future Rotary Rocks events \u2013 they are always a good evening out, and always raise funds for local charities.\u00a0 Next gig date will be in May 2027 at The Limelight Theatre \u2013 date and act to be announced soon.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Aylesbury Town Council Support<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t

The Rotary Club of Aylesbury Hundreds are very grateful to Aylesbury Town Council and their Grants Committee for their donation of \u00a31,000 to our Rotary Charity funds. The money will be used for our youth activities and competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mayor of Aylesbury, Nidhi Mehta joined a recent dinner meeting of Aylesbury Hundreds Rotary. The Mayor has supported several of our activities in and around Aylesbury during her year as Mayor.\u00a0 The Club is very grateful for the interest in our Club and for her time attending and making presentations during our Youth Competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Club Social – Historical Walk Through Bierton & Surroundings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Club Honorary Treasurer, Roger, took Club members & guests on a sunny Evening Spring walk through the history of Bierton and surroundings. Starting from Broughton Crossing and the locations of the world\u2019s first branch line linking Aylesbury with the London to Birmingham Railway, along the Aylesbury canal, once used by industrial barges, through the nature reserve of Kingsbrook,\u00a0 passed the brick kiln ponds of Bierton, and on to St Osyth\u2019s Well, near St James Church.\u00a0 A very pleasant and informative outing finished off with refreshments at The Doghouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dentaid Anniversary Presentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t

Dentaid Promotioinal Stall – 30 Year Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dental charity DENTAID (https:\/\/www.dentaid.org\/<\/a>) is celebrating its 30th anniversary since it started providing dental kits and advice\/help to overseas countries.\u00a0 Our Club helped Dentaid with donations and a grant in conjunction with other Rotary Clubs to provide dental kits.\u00a0 In 2015 a Dentaid volunteer dentist began part time dental treatment in the UK for vulnerable people in the community who were unable to access dental care.\u00a0 Rotary, and our Club, has continued to support the development with fundraising and donations over the years, and on Saturday 28th March a promotional stall was set up in Aylesbury Market Square to publicise Dentaid\u2019s work in the community.\u00a0 Their mobile dental units have brought dentistry to all parts of the country with the support of their volunteer dentists and nurses.\u00a0 Their BrightBites program has brought oral health information to thousands of children, and they continue to support dentists overseas by providing equipment, sharing and providing skills, and helping them reach communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Dentaid\/BrightBites volunteer, and a retired volunteer dentist, shared valuable advice and information with a steady number of families coming to the stall, and it is hoped to sign up a local school for a BrighBites visit.\u00a0 There was a teeth model for children to show how they clean their teeth, and balloons and gifts were given out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
